Growth Group Guide

  1. Who would you want to hear give a sermon? Why?
  2. According to Acts 13:14, where is Paul now? In what modern day country is this located?
  3. Read Acts 13:16-25. What key events does Paul highlight here? How would you summarize the Old Testament?
  4. Read Acts 13:26-41. What key themes does Paul highlight in this proclamation of the “good news” (v. 32)? How would you present the gospel to someone familiar with the Bible? As a group, practice sharing that now.
  5. Describe the diversity of responses to Paul’s preaching. Why do you think there is such a variety of responses to Jesus – even today?
  6. Revisit question four (above). What themes can be omitted from a gospel presentation while still remaining faithful? Conversely, what themes simply cannot be committed in a faithful presentation? Why?
  7. Should we present the gospel differently to different audiences? Why or why not?
