About the Youth Group

The Chinese Community Church of Indianapolis youth group exists to transform by the power of God the lives of youth for the glory of God through evangelism, discipleship, fellowship, ministry, and worship.

General Info

  • When: On Sundays we meet at 9:30 am for Sunday School and then 11 am for worship in the sanctuary. We also have Jr. and Sr. High Bible studies on Friday nights @ 7:30 am in the Youth Room. In addition, we usually have a special event each month.


  • Leaders:
    • Justin Young is the Pastor of English and Youth Ministries. After he graduated from Wheaton College with a BA in Biblical and Theological Studies he began at the Chinese Community Church of Indianapolis (CCCI) in June 1999. He is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.


    • Grace Young supports the youth ministry by caring for Justin and helping with the Worship team. She is from Hong Kong (you can speak to her in Cantonese) and has a undergraduate degree in piano performance and a graduate degree in Missions & Intercultural Studies and TESL (Teaching English as a Second Language) from Wheaton College. She is also currently busy at home taking care of Micah and Elia.


    • Kelvin Lim is from Malaysia and he received a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin - Madison in Dec 2003. Upon graduation, he moved to Indianapolis to work at Roche Diagnostics. Kelvin helps with Junior High Bible Study and the Worship Team.


    • Jeff Hsieh graduated from Carmel High School in 2002, and from Purdue University in 2006 with a degree in Business Management. He is currently working at Telamon Corporation in Carmel. Jeff was involved in the youth group through high school and now serves as the adult leader for the Fellowship Team.


    • John Huang has a bachelor of arts degree in political science from the University of North Carolina and a law degree from the University of Notre Dame. He is currently serving as a judicial law clerk on the Indiana Supreme Court. John helps with Senior High Bible Study.


    • Gylin Teh graduated from Campbell University in North Carolina with a BA in Mass Communication. She is from Malaysia, multilingual, and so you can talk to her in Mandarin, Cantonese and Hokkien as well as Malay and English. Before coming to Indianapolis, she worked as an IT manager for Michigan Nonprofit Association for 8 years. She is currently working at home as a freelancer (Graphic Designer) and taking care of her two children – Chloe and Jayden. Gylin helps with Senior High Bible Study group.


  • Youth: There are currently 75 youth on the roster. They range in age from 11 to 18 years old.


  • Schools: While most of the youth live on the northside of Indianapolis and attend the Carmel and Fishers schools, we do have members from quite a few other schools in the surrounding Indianapolis area.
