Seeing God in Academics, Part 1
One of my favorite subjects in school was science. I continue to be amazed by the handiwork of God, shown from the smallest bits of matter to the furthest points in outer space. As we look at the natural world, we see our Creator's preference for power, order, beauty, and detail. Although children can learn many wonderful things about science in school, many students will not be taught that God is the one who created it all. I would like to encourage parents to find out what areas of science their children will be studying this year and to use this academic subject to point them closer to God.
Last Week (August 15)
Sunday Theme In 1 Samuel 18-20, Jonathan warned David about the fact that Saul was trying to kill him. Based on this passage, the children learned that God provides friends and helps us love each other. Consider asking your children what they would do if they knew their friend was in some kind of trouble. This Week (August 22)
Sunday Theme In 1 Samuel 25, we see that Abigail made some wise decisions to make peace with David, who was about to destroy her husband. This week the children will be challenged to remember that God wants us to solve conflicts peacefully. Picture Time On August 29th, parents will be presented with a special gift that includes a photo of their children. Therefore, we will be taking individual photos of each child during the second hour this week. Children's Ministry Library The CM Library will re-open this Sunday from 12:15-12:30. Looking Ahead- August 29: Children's Ministry Sunday. During the second hour, all the Elementary children will attend the English service.
