We are now in the second week of Lent, a time of preparation as we journey to the cross on Good Friday and the resurrection on Easter Sunday. To help you prepare, read this week's thought.

Sunday Worship
Last week we saw that while we rest in Jesus, we are also to emulate Him when we face temptations. [sermon audio and resources (including the Hudson Taylor video) here]
This Sunday we have Sunday School at 9:30 am. Only four more weeks left in this quarter!
At 11 am we join together for our Sunday worship service where we'll continue our series through the Gospel of Luke. What does real world ministry look like? Our text will be Luke 4:14-44.
Events
Combined Sunday Service - Sunday, March 28 - We'll gather at 9:30 am in the gym for the last session of the Spring Mission Conference and our first combined Sunday worship service since moving to a formal English service.
Baptism on Good Friday, April 2 - Baptism - In the New Testament, becoming a Christian and being baptized are nearly one and the same. If you are a Christian, but have not yet been baptized, now is the time to seek baptism. If interested, please contact me.

Prayer
Please pray for 30 Hour Famine that we would both learn about poverty and aggressively raise funds to fight it!
Please pray for the ministry of Rev. Dich and Dr. Amy.
Please pray for Christina M.'s mom who will have a cat scan on Friday to investigate a nodule on her lung.
Memory Verse
God's patience: 2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

Word
gastronome \GAS-truh-nohm\, noun:
A connoisseur of good food and drink.
I am no gastronome at the best; moreover, I have, over the years, eaten in so many unpropitious circumstances and from so many truly awful kitchens that I have come to consider myself almost as much a connoisseur of bad food as other men are of good.
